<p>In order to alleviate the burden of a full schedule of games over the holiday season and reduce the advantage enjoyed by larger teams with broader rosters, Everton manager Sean Dyche suggested that the Premier League do away with its winter break.</p>

<p>This weekend’s FA Cup third round takes priority over Premier League games, and all teams will have one of the next two weekends off for a little winter break.</p>
<p>Everton played eight games in all categories in December, but they will only play four games at most this month, starting on Thursday when they travel to Crystal Palace for the FA Cup.</p>
<p>“It seems unnecessary to me given how many games there were in December already. It isn’t all that advantageous, Dyche said reporters on Wednesday.</p>
<p>“It would be preferable to stretch it out by losing one or two of these games in December. That is a more ideal situation. Then, the playing field is more level. Due to their large rosters, the larger clubs will inevitably benefit from additional games.</p>
<p>“However, you’re always going to be strained when you don’t have a large team like us and you get injuries. It is more even throughout the season if you include a few games in that break.</p>
<p>“If that break doesn’t simply vanish from the schedule, I’ll be shocked.”</p>
