Barcelona paid more than 100 million euros ($109.24 million) for Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, and Ousmane Dembele between 2017 and 2019. However, given the club’s financial difficulties, it seems doubtful that they will make a major acquisition anytime soon.

When asked if they could pursue players like France’s captain, Kylian Mbappe, or Manchester City’s Haaland, Xavi told reporters, “I have to deal with the players I have, because right now we are not able to think about those kinds of signings.” Xavi has stated that they hope to add new players during the January transfer window.

Sadly, our financial circumstances do not allow us to accomplish that. The guys I have left, and we have to win with them,” the Spaniard said, before of Barcelona’s league match on Thursday against Las Palmas.

“The bar is extremely high, so we have to play well and win titles.”

With one more game played than Xavi’s team, Real Madrid leads the league, while Barcelona is now in fourth place, 10 points behind them.
