Why the Sawai Mansingh Stadium is so important to MS Dhoni

After his team's match against Rajasthan Royals, legendary Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said why he believes Sawai Mansingh Stadium is extremely important to his heart. On Friday, Dhoni lost by 32 runs away from home, but the Yellow Army once again had a lot of support at the opposing stadium. This season, the supporters are showing out in large numbers to support Dhoni, who may leave the IPL after the current season.

As his best ODI score of 183 occurred there, Dhoni had pleasant recollections of playing there in the past. He also remembers how that performance ensured he would have a lengthy career with the Indian side.

“I believe they will pursue me the whole time. It's a really significant place because my first 100 in an ODI was in Vizag, which gave me maybe another 10 chances, but 183 here ensured that I would have opportunities for a whole year. It's a fantastic location and one that I hold dear. It's fantastic to be back here after playing around everywhere else, Dhoni stated after the game.

Dhoni made the claim that his side handed up too many runs on the powerplay during the loss against the Royals, allowing the opposition to score more runs than they should have.

“It (the objective) was much above average. The first six overs were the cause because they allowed too many runs, even though the surface was at its finest for batting at the time. Even after completion, the edges continued to seek limits. We were unable to halt the runs, and they received a par+ score, the player said.

Matheesha Pathirana, a young Sri Lankan bowler, had a bad day, but Dhoni said his statistics don't show it since he bowled decent lengths.

“I thought (Pathirana's) bowling was quite decent; he didn't bowl poorly, in my opinion. He said, “The scoresheet doesn't show how good he bowled.

The illustrious wicketkeeper batsman also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, two young Rajasthan Royals players who played blazing innings.

Yashasvi played excellent batting, it was vital to attack the bowlers, and she took calculated risks. Due to the fact that we had to determine the appropriate lengths, it was significantly easier against our bowlers. “Jurel batted really well at the end and Yashasvi batted well even then at the top end,” remarked Dhoni.
