The programme was convened by Rotarian Ashok Singhal and Rotarian Dr. S. K. Poddar, who ensured the successful execution of the awareness initiative.

Speaking during the session, President Rotarian CS Aditya Rungta shared that the topic was specially chosen to clear misconceptions and doubts surrounding cancer among both patients and the general public. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive mindset during illness, stating that positivity and emotional strength play a significant role in helping patients recover better.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Amish Vora clarified several myths related to cancer treatment and awareness. He stated that it is completely false to believe that a cancer cure is being intentionally suppressed by pharmaceutical companies. He further highlighted that cancer is not a single disease but a group of hundreds of different diseases, and researchers across the world, including publicly funded scientists, are continuously working towards better treatments and cures.

Dr. Vora also advised people to adopt healthier lifestyles to reduce risks associated with cancer. He recommended brisk walking five times a week and maintaining at least eight hours of sleep daily as important preventive measures. He encouraged attendees not to live in fear of cancer and stressed the importance of awareness, timely diagnosis, and positive mental health.

The programme was highly engaging and conducted in a two-way communication format, where members actively interacted with Dr. Vora and asked questions related to cancer myths, prevention, treatment, and patient care.

At the conclusion of the programme, Rotarian CS Aditya Rungta expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Amish Vora for sharing his valuable knowledge and guidance. He also thanked all the members and attendees for being wonderful listeners and making the programme a grand success.
